This is a list of Outlook 2010 hotfixes and updates. Updates can be downloaded from Microsoft Update while hotfixes need to be requested (it's a simple process to request a hotfix). Note that hotfixes are packaged into later updates and as long as you have Outlook updated to the most recently available updates, early hotfixes may be installed. There is no set period of time before hotfixes are included in cumulative updates, but it generally takes a few months.

Outlook 2010 Updates: November 2014

The following Outlook 2010 issues are fixed in Hotfix KB2899529 for Outlook 2010
November 11, 2014 (Outlook-x-none.msp).

When you open a meeting request in Outlook 2010 and insert an attachment in the response, and then save the message as a draft item, you may receive an error when you try to open the attachment from the draft copy. Additionally, Outlook may crash when you try to delete the attachment from the item.

Under certain conditions, you may be able to copy content from an information rights management (IRM)-protected email message from the Outlook 2010 Reading pane.

You cannot open attachments whose file name contains more than one period directly from an email item in Outlook 2010. This occurs because all the periods in the file name except the last one are replaced with spaces.

When you use a delegate account to access the manager’s calendar folder in Outlook 2010, then use a custom form to schedule an appointment, and the delegate accepts the meeting invitation, the appointment item is saved in the delegate’s calendar folder instead of the manager’s folder.

Outlook 2010 cannot send the IMAP ID extension information to the IMAP servers that support the ID RFC

Outlook updates: August 2014 Re-release

The August updates brought a little pain to Outlook 2013: Online archive mailboxes wouldn't open after installing August 12, 2014 update for Outlook 2013 (KB2881011) and Hotfix KB2883074 for Outlook 2013 August 12, 2014 (Outlook-x-none.msp). These were pulled, fixed, and re-released in KB2889859.

This update includes a number of fixes, including issues with EAS (Outlook.com) sending multiple meeting updates after editing an exception to a meeting series.

IMAP issues addressed:
The read / unread state doesn't update on other computers running Outlook.
When moving messages to other folders, the Internet headers change or disappear.
Unable to undelete messages when you delete more than one at a time.

When you use the Improve search speed by limiting the number of results shown option, search results is limited to 30 items. This update increases it to 250.

Some holidays have incorrect dates and inaccurate translations. The affected versions are Hebrew, German, French, Dutch, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Italian, Turkish, and Slovak.

At this time, Microsoft is limiting the number of users who get the update automatically and anyone who wants it immediately will need to go to File, Office Account, Update Options, Update Now to force the installation of the update.
